Unapologetic Large Women: Talk About Terrific Self-Esteem

>> Wednesday, August 5, 2009

It seems the Universe is trying to have me get the word out (I don't really believe that, just sayin') about how important it is for overweight and obese women to have a positive self-image. Not only is Friday's podcast guest plus-sized and happy with her more to love frame, but over the past couple of minutes I stumbled across a blog featuring an overweight woman with the same attitude--while doing a search about comments of all things. Hmmmm, coincidence? Yes, but a good one.

Alright, I won't keep you waiting any longer--if you have time be sure to check out Elisa DeCarlo's Diary of a Mad Fashionista. It's a hysterical and well-written blog; I love how she begins her posts by calling her readers "Dahlings", what a hoot! She's also recently started an Etsy site to sell plus-size vintage clothing and more.

Have a great day everyone!

Dahling, thank you ever so for your kind mention about my blog-thing!

One of my missions (besides educating people about bad fashion choices) is to bring about self-love no matter what your size. Our culture despises fat women (cf my post "Twitter & My Plans for World Domination"). I am extremely tall, broad-shouldered, with size 11WW feet. Somehow I do not see "slender" in my future, and I do not care.

Must put my children down for sleepy time early so I can listen to the podcast...and check out this blogger.
